October News From
Studio 180 Dance
October is packed full of fun at Studio 180. We hope you will read about, ask about, and try our classes and programs.  Amid the excitement to be back dancing, don't forget to wear your costumes to class THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 26-31 and to attend the Haunted Studio on October 24th!
Competition Team Auditions

We invite dancers with a competitive spirit to audition for the Studio 180 Competition Team, October 3, 5:30pm.  The competition schedule is great fun, builds team spirit and comradery among the dancers, and adds a new dimension to each dancer's repertoire. The team will be formed by audition only, and the criteria used will be numbers of dancers interested by age, mastery of form, attitude, and commitment by the dancer and parent to the rigorous schedule. All team members will be required to register for and attend the classes designated for the areas in which they compete. In addition, all competition team members are required to take one offsite, approved workshop per season and one master class per season, hosted by the studio, in each of their competing disciplines. Please visit our website at www.studio180dance.com/competitionteam.shtml to read the participation requirements and for more information.
Arts and Humanities Month Art Show

In celebration of Arts and Humanities Month, we are opening the studio as an art gallery featuring the art work of local students. We hope you will stop by for dance demonstrations and snacks at our Art show featuring student work, Saturday, October 10 from 6-8pm in the studio.
Try It Week at the Studio

Also as a part of our Arts and Humanities Month celebration, we are offering Try It Week from October 5-10. Call to sign-up for a free class in any discipline. This is a terrific way to experience a dance form.
Haunted Studio

Last year we had so much fun dressing up and seeing all of our students' costumes that we decided we should do even more this year to celebrate the holiday dedicated to dressing up! Ages 2-14, you are invited to come to our Haunted Studio on October 24th from 6-9pm for scary happenings, treats, and costume prizes.
Zumbatomic

Did you know Miss Katie is now certified to teach Zumbatomic, a new exercise/dance program for kids from the creators of Zumba?  Exercise is good for all of us, so the founders of Zumba have designed an entire program just for children. Ask about classes at the front desk.

Dance Hard/Dance Strong© curriculum - 30-45 minute programs incorporating live dance performances in ballet, pointe, jazz, modern, tap, and aerial dance with correlations to sports such as football, soccer, rowing, volleyball, basketball, and swimming. Each performance is designed to illustrate the relationships among various training programs and dance choreography while promoting healthy life choices through dance.  Call Katie at 410.268.5299 for more information and to schedule a performance for your school.
