|
Towson, MD - 10/16/09 - Katie Carpenter, artistic director and owner of Studio180 Dance attended and spoke at the MAHPERD Convention (Maryland Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) in Towson on Friday, October 16th. Carpenter presented her Dance Hard/Dance Strong© curriculum to fellow exercise professionals. Along with explaining how dance supports physical health and wellness, Carpenter and instructors Brooke Bowlin and Diana Palumbo also provided demonstrative exercises and performances. "We were so flattered to be invited to be part of the MAPHERD Convention this year. It was a great opportunity and venue to demonstrate how dance can enhance athletics," Carpenter explained. Studio180's informational Dance Hard/Dance Strong© program demonstrates to athletes in recreational and highly competitive level sports that by practicing dance, athletes have the ability to become stronger and more flexible leading to fewer injuries. Studio180 strives to ensue strength and motivation in each of their students and peers. The Dance Hard/Dance Strong© curriculum exemplifies Carpenter and her instructors' devotion to this by showing their own love of strength and health through dance as an athletic activity.
