Studio 180 Dance's Second Annual Spring Recital a Success!

|
Annapolis, MD - 05/22/10 -
Studio 180 Dance had their Second
Annual Spring Recital at The Chesapeake Art's Center on May 22nd,
2010 at 2pm. Students ages 3 - adult performed well-rehearsed dances, practiced
since September. The dances, costumes, lighting, and smiles were perfect and
audience members enjoyed the growth of their loved ones. Studio 180 Dance's
owner, Katie Carpenter, and her dance faculty are so proud of all of their
students and how successfully they performed onstage. Even a 4 year old who
lost her tap shoe was able to sit down, put it on and stand back up to continue the
dance with perfect timing! Now that's talent! Annual awards and scholarships
were presented to dancers after the show. The "Sunshine Award" was given to
Ashley Register; the "Commitment Award" was given to Lindsey Register; the
"Most Improved Senior Award" was given to Paulina Grajewsky; the "Most Improved
Junior Award" was given to Kali Gilson; and the "Bright Young Star Award" was
given to Samantha Newman. The Junior Scholarship was awarded to 2 students this
year: Lindsey Ray and Maddie Battista; and the Senior Scholarship went to
Kinsey Stanton-Penkert. Scholarships discounting tuition are awarded based on a
dancer's hard work, improvement, commitment and overall attitude at the studio
and in class. Carpenter and faculty are so proud of all award and scholarship
winners! Studio 180 Dance offers instruction in the traditional disciplines of ballet,
Pointe, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, acro jazz, and lyrical as well as aerial
dance, Zumba®, and Zumbatomic®. Studio 180 Dance also hosts a competitive dance
team. All dancers are welcome at the studio, beginner through professional
levels, ages 2 through adult.
