Annapolis, MD - 05/05/10 - Studio 180 Dance's Competition Team took home three High Gold Medals and a First Place Best Costume Award at the Starquest Performing Arts Competition on May 1, 2010 at the Mary Harrison Cultural Arts Center/ Northern High School in Owings, MD. Performers from across the state of Maryland competed in dancing, singing, cheerleading, tumbling and baton twirling.

Studio 180 Dance competed "True Colors," a lyrical trio performed by Maddie Battista, Lindsey Ray and Natalia Grajewski, winning a High Gold medal and a First Place Costume Award. "With or Without You," a lyrical duet performed by Libby Eckert and Kinsey Stanton-Penkert, won a High Gold medal. And "Numb," a jazz solo performed by Kinsey Stanton-Penkert, won a High Gold medal.

The competition girls are exposed to all forms of dance and are given both the chance to learn from their peers as well as perform. Competitive dance enhances the dancers' ability to elevate creative movement to performance art.

Studio 180 Dance offers instruction in the traditional disciplines of ballet, Pointe, tap, jazz, modern, hip hop, acro jazz, and lyrical as well as aerial dance, Zumba®, and Zumbatomic®. Studio 180 Dance also hosts a competitive dance team. All dancers are welcome, beginner through professional levels, ages 2 through adult.
